Information Law Series

Information law is the law relating to the production, marketing, distribution and use of information goods and services. The field of information law cuts across traditional legal boundaries and comprises a wide set of legal issues on the crossroads of intellectual property, media law, telecommunications law, internet regulation, freedom of expression and right to privacy.

Volumes in the series were initially published under the joint general editorship of Professor Egbert Dommering and Bernt Hugenholtz, advised by an international advisory board. From 2000 until 2023, Professor Hugenholtz acted as sole General Editor. As from 2024, Professor Martin Senftleben is in charge of the series.

Publications in the Information Law Series are aimed not only at scholars and advanced students, but also at practitioners and policy makers who are active in the rapidly expanding area of information law and policy. Since 1991 forty-eight volumes were published in the series, covering a vast and constantly growing range of current issues.

To celebrate the success of the series, and to make volumes in the series more accessible to scholars, students and other interested readers, Kluwer Law International has agreed to make older volumes freely available on this website1. The first ten volumes in the series are now available in PDF format below. More volumes will be added over time.

A complete listing of all volumes published in the series is available here. All books in the series remain in print and can be purchased from the Wolters Kluwer webshop, or ordered at your local bookstore.
