will give the first ever Distinguished IViR lecture on Tuesday 16th of May 2023
“Regulating Artificial Innovation and Information:
Is IP Law Up to the Task?”
As innovation in almost all fields previously reserved for human endeavors is now increasingly produced by Artificial Intelligence, machines, what changes if any do we need to make to IP Laws? This talk will discuss the role of IP law—and indeed law more generally—in charting the future course of AI development.
Professor Daniel Gervais is the Milton R Underwood Chair in Law at Vanderbilt University. He is member of the American Law Institute and of the Academy of Europe. He is a past President of the International Association for the Advancement of Teaching and Research in Intellectual Property (ATRIP).
With this Distinguished Lecture, IViR starts a new series of Biannual Information Law Lectures.
We are honoured the Professor Gervais has agreed to provide this first Lecture and become out first Distinguished IViR Fellow.
