B. Zeybek
UvA ProfielBengi Zeybek is a PhD researcher at the Institute for Information Law (IViR). Her doctoral research explores issues related to the relationship between law, data and digital infrastructures in the context of (quantum) sensing and metrology technologies. Her PhD project is part of the research initiative ‘Law and Governance of Quantum Technologies’, led by prof. dr. J.V.J. van Hoboken. Previously, she was a Research Associate at the Centre for IT & IP Law (CiTiP), KU Leuven (Belgium), where she dealt with the legal aspects of cybersecurity, privacy, data protection, critical infrastructure protection and e-health.
Bengi holds an LL.M. (research) degree in Information Law from the University of Amsterdam (UvA), the Netherlands. During her studies, she was briefly a research assistant at the UvA, was part of the organization team of the Digital Freedom Fund’s Strategy Meeting 2020 and spent some time at PEN America, working on free speech advocacy for writers and journalists. She also gained experience in data protection compliance in the private sector (Nike EMEA). She has a bachelor’s degree in law from Bilkent University, Turkey (honors).
