Sarah Stapel
Sarah (she/her) started the Research Master in Information Law in 2019. She completed a liberal arts degree at Amsterdam University College, the Bachelor of Law at the University of Amsterdam, and an exchange programme at the University of Melbourne. For her Bachelor thesis, Sarah discussed to what extent EU data protection law can learn from EU environmental policy, given structural similarities of their respective regulatory challenges and remedies. During her Research Master she focused on topics of data protection, platform regulation, freedom of expression, and the socio-political dimensions inherent in these areas of law. She completed an exchange program at Cardozo School of Law, following courses on US Internet law, intellectual property, gender and the law, and blockchain. Sarah is currently the student assistant for IViR's Privacy Law and Policy Summer Course.
